Faroese Home Dining
One of the most enjoyable aspects of travelling is tasting the local food. We serve an exciting menu with the special taste of fermented foods, which we call ræst in faroese.
We are happy to serve a dinner in our authentic faroese home with a beautiful view. You will taste 12 different faroese specialities cooked and prepared as it has been through ages. During the dinner, we will tell you about the faroese food culture and traditions, how we prepare and provide the food.
Starter 1: Platter with dry fish, dry whale, dry-salted whale blubber and dried lam (skerpikjøt) and a sausage with unleaved bread, a faroese schnapps and beer.
Starter 2: Fishsoup of the house and homemade flute
Main course 1: Ræst fish with a gravy with melted fat and good tallow, potaoes and carrots.
Main course 2: Fermented lam/spare ribs with roots and potatoes.
Main course 3: Whale Beef with vegetables, potatoes/mashed potatoes and picckled beetroots.
Dessert: Rhubarb dessert with whipped cream
Beverages are served for a reasonable price. Water, coffee and tea is served for free.
These dinners will be on the 11 June, 18 June, 30 July and 6 August 2019 at 7 pm and by request..
Price for the menu above: 790 DKK per person. All-inclusve: 990 DKK.
Deadline for booking is at 7 pm the day before. This is public, so everyone, that signs up is welcome.

How to get there: Citybusses and SSL busses stops at the beginning/bottom of Mannbrekka. Free parking is next to the busstops and at Hoyvíkar Skúli.
