Home Dining on the 1 March 2019

Faroese Home Dining
One of the most enjoyable aspects of travelling is tasting local food. We happily serve a 4 course dinner in our authentic faroese home, with a beautiful view. You get the opportunity to try several different faroese specialities. During the dinner, we will be telling you all bout faroese food culture and traditions, and how we provide and prepare the food. You will get a chance to meet other travellers and share experiences.

We start with a platter of dry whale, dry fish, dry-salted blubber, potatoes, a slice of faroese bread (drýlur) with dried lam (skerpikjøt) and a slice of faroese bread with a kind of sausage made of rolled mutton (rullupylsa). The Platter is also served with a faroese beer.

The main courses are:

  • Ræst fish with a gravy made out of melted fat and good tallow, potatoes and carrots.
  • Fermented lamb/spare ribs with roots and potatoes.

Finally we serve a rhubarb dessert with whipped cream, coffee and tea.

Beverages are served for a reasonable price. Water, coffee and tea is free.

Price: 600 DKK per person.

The dinner starts at 7 pm on Friday the 1 March 2019.  Duration: 3 hours.
